iHEARTMEDIA's Classic Rock WDVE/PITTSBURGH announced that the 10th annual 'DVE ROCKS FOR CHILDREN'S RADIOTHON raised over $814,000 on THURSDAY and FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 28th and 29th, 2017. The annual event benefits the CHILDREN'S HOSPITAL OF PITTSBURGH.
For the past 10 years, the event has raised nearly $5 million to benefit the hospital which is the leading provider of pediatric care in the PITTSBURGH community.
'DVE ROCKS FOR CHILDREN'S RADIOTHON featured special guests including former PITTSBURGH STEELERS kicker SHAUN SUISHAM and former PITTSBURGH PENGUINS player, COLBY ARMSTRONG, who supported the fundraiser by answering phones. In addition, PITTSBURGH STEELERS quarterback BEN ROETHLISBERGER, comedian BILLY GARDELL, and WWE chief brand officer, STEPHANIE MCMAHON all made donations by phone.
“This is truly unbelievable to witness the generosity of 102.5 WDVE Rocks, their loyal listeners, the corporate sponsors and partners, and this amazing PITTSBURGH community who has supported the Radiothon over the past 10 years,” said GREG BARRETT, CHILDREN'S HOSPITAL OF PITTSBURGH Foundation Pres. “Without this remarkable support each and every year, providing this level of expert, compassionate care to our patients and their families simply would not be possible.”
