Breaking a long stretch of not appearing for interviews on talk radio that prompted a "where is he?" piece on CNN, President DONALD TRUMP returned to the talk radio interview circuit, notably making an appearance on CHRIS PLANTE's CUMULUS News-Talk WMAL-A-F/WASHINGTON and WESTWOOD ONE-syndicated show.
TRUMP, who made many appearances on conservative talk radio shows friendly to his viewpoint both in his real estate/"The Apprentice" roles and as a candidate, had not given an interview to talk radio in his first eight months in office, but after CNN's OLIVER DARCY wrote about the long absence and its peculiarity in light of the safe haven some shows offer the President, TRUMP broke his radio silence with the PLANTE interview TODAY (10/17). While pushing his tax reform proposal, TRUMP used the occasion to threaten Sen. JOHN MCCAIN (R-AZ) over MCCAIN's criticism of TRUMP's nationalism, saying, "People have to be careful because at some point I fight back … and it won’t be pretty.” And TRUMP took credit for ISIS "giving up," claiming that it had not happened earlier "because you didn't have TRUMP as your president."

SALEM's MIKE GALLAGHER also got an interview with TRUMP, with SALEM RADIO NETWORK VP News and Talk Programming TOM TRADUP saying, "This was an awesome day for talk radio…. The ‘OBAMA Drought’ for talk radio is clearly over, and we’re honored as an industry to be back on the White House’s radar under President TRUMP’s leadership.” Also at the radio row were FOX NEWS RADIO's BRIAN KILMEADE, CBS RADIO News-Talk WPHT-A/PHILADELPHIA's CHRIS STIGALL, PLANTE's WMAL colleagues MARY WALTER and VINCE COGLIANESE, SIRIUSXM's DAVID WEBB, and others.
