The iHEARTMEDIA Urban WWPR (POWER 105.1)/NEW YORK "POWERHOUSE SHOW" at BROOKLYN's Barclay Center had a bit of unplanned excitement when the NYPD was called in after unticketed fans tried to force their way into the show.
WCBS-TV2 reports, "The POWER 105.1 POWERHOUSE SHOW was sold out THURSDAY night, but the unticketed fans tried to force their way in, BARCLAYS CENTER spokeswoman MANDY GUTMANN said in a statement. BARCLAYS CENTER security and the NYPD worked to disperse the crowd, the statement said."
Unfortunately for some fans with tickets, the doors were closed and no one else was allowed in.
EVP/Programming THEA MITCHEM told ALL ACCESS, "Due to a group of fans without tickets trying to gain access into the venue, for the safety of all guests THE BARCLAYS CENTER security and NEW YORK POLICE closed off admittance to the event and no further entry was permitted. Show went on as scheduled with all performances with no injuries or arrests."
Ticketholders that could not get in, will be offered refunds at the point of purchase.
