Broadcast Vet Jack Alix Passes

JACK ALIX, a veteran broadcaster in the DC area through the 1960s and '70s (WEAM, WPGC, WEEL, WINX, WXTR) and during later years in RICHMOND (WLEE, WRVQ, WMXB, WBBT, WXGI, CLEAR CHANNEL SALES), passed away this morning (11/15) following a long battle with pneumonia.
ALIX was best known for his '70s syndicated radio show "ROCK 'N ROLL ROOTS," at one time heard on 143 stations around the country. ALIX recently received the LIFETIME ACHIEVEMENT AWARD from the RICHMOND ASSOCIATION OF BROADCASTERS.
