BILL WILKERSON, the former CBS RADIO News-Talk KMOX-A/ST. LOUIS morning host and ST. LOUIS Football CARDINALS and UNIVERSITY OF MISSOURI football play-by-play voice, died THURSDAY (11/2) at his home in FLORISSANT, MO at 72, reports the ST. LOUIS POST-DISPATCH.
WILKERSON joined KMOX in 1969, hosted through 1996, and called CARDINALS football from 1973 through the team's departure for PHOENIX in 1987. He called MIZZOU football in 1976-93 and the ABA's SPIRITS OF ST. LOUIS alongside BOB COSTAS in the team's final season, 1975-76. In 1996, WILKERSON moved along with one of his KMOX co-hosts, WENDY WIESE, to crosstown News-Talk KTRS-A, where he worked on and off until 2006. Most recently, he headed a medical equipment distributor, MPS WORLDWIDE, which he founded in 2004.
