The FCC has named MATTHEW DUCHESNE as Chief of the Office of Native Affairs and Policy (ONAP). DUCHESNE joins the Commission from the U.S. BUREAU OF RECLAMATION, where he has been serving as Program Manager for Native American and International Affairs, and the FINANCIAL INDUSTRY REGULATORY AUTHORITY, where he has been a Public Arbitrator; he previously worked as a senior policy official at the Department of Energy and a Congressional aide as well as a Supreme Court fellow in the late Chief Justice WILLIAM REHNQUIST's office. He replaces Acting Chief LYLE ISHIDA at ONAP.
“We are delighted to welcome MATTHEW to the ONAP team,” said Consumer and Governmental Affairs Bureau Acting Chief PATRICK WEBRE. “He brings leadership, vision and a wide range of policy making and practical experience that will be key to enhancing the Commission’s engagement with Native Nations.”
“We’d be remiss if we didn’t thank LYLE for his leadership and dedication,” added WEBRE. “He is an invaluable asset to our work and I’m grateful that he will continue to serve here at the FCC.”
