Controversial former CORPORATION FOR PUBLIC BROADCASTING Board Chairman KENNETH TOMLINSON has been renominated by President BUSH for another term as Chairman and board member of the BROADCASTING BOARD OF GOVERNORS.
The BBG oversees U.S. international broadcasting initiatives such as the VOICE OF AMERICA and RADIO/TV MARTI.
TOMLINSON came under fire for various practices, including allegedly working on his horse-racing business while on BBG and CPB time, charging for work for both the BBG and CPB for the same hours, and giving contracts to friends. He resigned as CPB Chairman last year but continued to head the BBG even though his term expired two years ago.
