CHET-5 Triple A WDST (RADIO WOODSTOCK 100.1 WDST)/WOODSTOCK, NY raised over $60,000 for breast cancer centers and hospital facilities and programs during its 19th annual Pink OCTOBER (covering both OCTOBER and NOVEMBER). This year's collection brings the total raised by the event since 1998 to over $600,000.
Among the station's activities for the fundraiser were online auctions, "Pink Hours" on the air sponsored by local businesses , and two sold-out concerts with BRANDI CARLILE and LP. Recipients of this year's funds are THE DYSON CENTER FOR CANCER CARE, THE BENEDICTINE FOUNDATION, HEALTHALLIANCE FOUNDATION, MIDHUDSON REGIONAL HOSPITAL FOUNDATION, and PLANNED PARENTHOOD.
Principal owner GARY CHETKOF said that “It is really wonderful that RADIO WOODSTOCK can use its media and live events capabilities to to not only bring world class artists to the HUDSON VALLEY but also to serve our local community and raise funds needed to address breast cancer here at home. We are extremely grateful for all the support we received from the artists, sponsors, listeners and concerts attendees and we know that our donations will be put to good use by the various breast cancer centers in the HUDSON VALLEY.”
