Condolences to family and friends of longtime WMFR-A/HIGH POINT, NC morning host MAX MEEKS, who died MONDAY in THOMASVILLE, NC at 92.

MEEKS began at WMFR in 1947 and was with the station, with a short respite in the late 1950s for work outside radio and another in 2000 for heart surgery , through his 2010 retirement.

A celebration of MEEKS' life will be held at 2p (ET) WEDNESDAY (11/29) at WESLEY MEMORIAL UNITED METHODIST CHURCH in HIGH POINT, with visitation immediately afterward.  Another visitation will be held TOMORROW (11/28) 6-8p (ET) at CUMBY FAMILY FUNERAL SERVICE in HIGH POINT. Memorial donations may be sent to HOSPICE OF THE PIEDMONT, 1801 Westchester Dr. HIGH POINT, NC, 27262.
