Cumulus Announces NeXt2rock 2017 Finalists

A Search For America's Newest Rock Star

CUMULUS MEDIA has announced the names of the five Rock music artists selected as finalists in neXt2rock, a one-of-a-kind national grassroots talent search and artist development program for Rock music. 

The five national finalists, selected by a panel of Rock radio professionals, are:

• MARINA CITY representing WKQX/WLUP, CHICAGO, IL  
• IVORY BLACK representing KCFX/KCJK, KANSAS CITY, MO  
• ANOTHER DAY DAWNS representing WBSX, WILKES_BARRE, PA 
• WILL EVANS representing WMOS, NEW LONDON, CT
• MIGRANT MOTEL representing KLOS, LOS ANGELES, CA

The neXt2rock 2017 finale event is happening at the VIPER ROOM in LOS ANGELES, CA, on TUESDAY, DECEMBER 12th, 2017, from 8p-11p (PT) and will be streamed live at www.next2rock.com, starting at 8:30 p (PT). Music personality and longtime radio and TV host MATT PINFIELD will host the evening’s festivities. 

These five emerging artists will be judged in the finale by Rock music luminaries and industry professionals, including: BIG MACHINE Label Group President/CEO  SCOTT BORCHETTA; BUSH frontman GAVIN ROSSDALE; fashion designer and record label head JOHN VARVATOS; SEX PISTOLS' guitarist and host of “JONESY’s JUKEBOX” STEVE JONES; musician, songwriter and producer DESMOND CHILD, and engineer/mixer CHRIS LORD-ALGE.

CUMULUS MEDIA and WESTWOOD ONE executive vice president, Content & Programming MIKE MCVAY said, "The artists who entered this year’s neXt2rock competition are incredibly talented. The winner of this four-month-long experience will receive a record deal with BIG MACINE/JOHN VARVATOS RECORDS, as well as substantial exposure, commensurate with a major label release, on CUMULUS radio stations nationwide.
