WMMR/Philadelphia's Preston & Steve Camp Out For Hunger Sets A Record

BEASLEY BROADCAST GROUP Active Rock WMMR/PHILADELPHIA's 20th Annual PRESTON & STEVE CAMP OUT FOR HUNGER garnered a record-setting 1,679,823 pounds (over 839 tons of food) and $272,683 in cash, which will provide over 2.2 million meals for the hungry.
From 6a MONDAY, NOVEMBER 27th through 11a FRIDAY, DECEMBER 1st, PRESTON and STEVE lived in the parking lot of XFINITY LIVE! PHILADELPHIA, located at the SPORTS COMPLEX in SOUTH PHILLY, soliciting food donations from listeners and businesses in the greater PHILADELPHIA area. Dozens of local and national celebrities, performers, and athletes dropped by to lend their support, including U.S. Sen. CHRISTOPHER COONS of DELAWARE, ZACH ERTZ and BEAU ALLEN from the PHILADELPHIA EAGLES, KELLY RIPA, the ‘City 6’ college men’s basketball coaches, and many more.
Donors were treated to free coffee in the morning, along with breakfast, lunch and dinner throughout the day. There were also prizes and incentives, multiple free events at night such as a PRESTON & STEVE Calendar Girl signing, a comedy night featuring DON JAMESON & JIM FLORENTINE, a family movie night and fun watch parties for SIXERS and FLYERS games. SUBARU OF AMERICA’s largest donation from a business, 471,375, earned them a live PRESTON & STEVE broadcast from their headquarters in CHERRY HILL, NJ.
