The FCC has denied the Application for Review by TED TUCKER's COCHISE BROADCASTING LLC of the denial of a modification application for KTBX/TUBAC, AZ that would have moved the station and changed its power and height.
The application was rejected as violating protection to an FM allocation at MAGDALENA, SONORA, MEXICO. COCHISE contended that rather than being rejected outright, the application should have been submitted to Mexican authorities for consideration; the Commission said that applications falling under the USA-MEXICO agreement can only be accepted if the interfering contour does not overlap the protected contours of existing allotments and assignments of the other country.
