DOWNTOWN MUSIC PUBLISHING just celebrated its 10th birthday with a three-floor NEW YORK CITY gathering at the historical landmark FREE PUBLIC BATHS OF NEW YORK, bringing together the company's worldwide leadership team from NASHVILLE, L.A., TOKYO, AMSTERDAM and LONDON.
Each global office had its own themed floor, with curated music, drinks, and food to match: a jazz lounge and SAPPORO for the TOKYO office, a honky-tonk roadhouse and hot chicken for NASHVILLE. The latter included live performances by DOWNTOWN NASHVILLE writers KENDELL MARVEL, MARC BEESON, SARA HAZE, and NRBQ's legendary "BIG AL" ANDERSON
DOWNTOWN MUSIC PUBLISHING head JUSTIN KALIFOWITZ, who founded the company in 2007, welcomed the troops, which has grown from a staff of two to more than 80. DOWNTOWN's dedicated tech platform SONGTRUST, which launched in 2011, now manages over 1 million song copyrights composed by over 100,000 songwriter clients, which now includes EUROPE.
