Mobile App GENIES, INC., has announced a strategic investment in the company from THE CHAINSMOKERS' ANDREW TAGGART and ALEX PALL. The company recently announced the launch of its new mobile app, which allows users to create personalized expressive emojis that react to relevant daily happenings in real time.
The company has raised $15 million from strategic investors including SHAWN MENDES, RUSSELL WESTBROOK and JOE MONTANA along with NEA, FOUNDATION CAPITAL, BOX GROUP, GREAT OAKS, LERER VENTURES and TRINITY VENTURES. GENIES also secured funding support from the entertainment industry with backing from CAA VENTURES, production company MANAGEMENT 360, and TULCO Chairman/CEO THOMAS TULL
Said PALL and TAGGART, “What really stood out to us about GENIES when we first met up with [GENIES CEO] AKASH [NIGAM] was the ability and opportunities to engage with our fans and supporters. We can connect with our fans on a more intimate level at concerts and live events because GENIES adds another more personal level to the generic social media interaction that’s gone stale. We think they’re really going to take off and we’re excited to be on the ground floor. Get ready to hear from us in a way you haven’t before.”
The new GENIES app is preloaded with hundreds of thousands of body, facial and style combinations for users to create mini clones of themselves and then interact with their friends’ GENIES.
Added GENIES' NIGAM, “Since we’ve launched we have seen incredible engagement and interest in our app as we work towards disrupting how we interact with news. Our goal as we continue to expand and grow is to reach out and collaborate with trendsetters and influencers that understand how Gen Z and millennials want to communicate. The fact that a pair as iconic as THE CHAINSMOKERS are getting involved speaks to the obvious need for a change in the status quo and that GENIES is the one to deliver on that.”
