The move of CBS NEWS RADIO to distribution via SKYVIEW NETWORKS took place at the stroke of midnight NEW YEAR'S EVE. CBS and SKYVIEW announced the new arrangement, which moves the network and its over 450 affiliates from WESTWOOD ONE distribution, in AUGUST (NET NEWS 8/2). SKYVIEW is now handling distribution, inventory management and ad sales services for CBS NEWS RADIO.
“We have been working hand in hand with our partners at CBS NEWS RADIO in advance of this broadcast transition and its success is the result of our combined efforts and strategic preparation,” said SKYVIEW Pres. KEN THIELE. “As a vertically integrated company, we are uniquely positioned in the marketplace to serve the full needs of our national broadcast partners; we look forward to supporting the growth initiatives of CBS NEWS RADIO.”
CBS NEWS RADIO EVP/GM JEANNE-MARIE CONDO said, “We’re thrilled to bring the entertainment and heritage news brand to the radio advertising community. The CBS NEWS RADIO networks are powerful, and we have received a warm welcome from our advertising partners, who are excited about the inventory and content opportunities the network will provide.”
