AARON AXELSEN has signed a multi-year contract extension to remain at ENTERCOM Alternative KITS (ALT 105.3)/SAN FRANCISCO. The BAY AREA native began as an intern at KITS 22 years ago. AXELSEN has been MD for the past 20 years.
AXELSEN will also continue to introduce the BAY AREA to new music and new artists via his long-running on-air shows, "SUBSONIC" and "SOUNDCHECK." He is also the cofounder of POPSCENE, a SAN FRANCISCO nightclub.
ENTERCOM Regional President/SVP and Market Manager SUSAN LARKIN said,“AARON AXELSEN is an integral part of the new ALT 105.3 team and we’re excited to continue our professional relationship with him. He’s the quintessential sound of the station and has remained an important part of the station’s success for decades.”
AXELSEN adds, "I'm beyond thrilled and honored to be a member of the ENTERCOM alternative all-star team, working alongside some of the most talented and passionate programmers in the format. A huge thanks to DAVID FIELD, MICHAEL MARTIN, SUSAN LARKIN, PAT PAXTON and CHRIS OLIVIERO for this incredible opportunity to help launch the new ALT 105.3, as we welcome a new era for alternative music fans here in the BAY AREA.”
KITS rebranded from LIVE 105 to ALT 105.3 a couple days before CHRISTMAS (NET NEWS, 12/23/17).
