GA Tech Station Mulls Takeover Proposal

GEORGIA TECH's student newspaper THE TECHNIQUE is reporting that PUBLIC BROADCASTING OF ATLANTA is proposing a takeover of the 5a-7p ET hours on student station WREK/ATLANTA. The paper is reporting that PBA, which operates crosstown PBS affiliate WPBA-TV, is offering to pay for WREK's conversion to HD Radio and provide HD radios for the staff in exchange for the daytime hours on the station. No formal proposal has been made, but the school is forming a committee to consider the proposal.
