Celeste Headlee Announces Departure From Georgia Public Broadcasting's 'On Second Thought'

GEORGIA PUBLIC BROADCASTING News-Talk "ON SECOND THOUGHT" host CELESTE HEADLEE has announced that she is leaving the weekday talk show. 

In a post on FACEBOOK, HEADLEE cited her career, which includes public speaking and writing a second book, for her departure and said she would be working with GPB to find a suitable replacement.  HEADLEE also added that she will continue with GPB as a "special correspondent" and occasional guest host for "ON SECOND THOUGHT," and in the post's comments, said that she will likely be moving back to WASHINGTON.

HEADLEE is a former host at NPR and co-hosted "THE TAKEAWAY" for PRI and WNYC-A-F/NEW YORK before joining GPB almost four years ago.  GPB airs the show on Variety WRAS/ATLANTA and a network of stations across the state.
