CKTS/Sherbrooke Goes Silent

CORUS' CKTS-A/SHERBROOKE, QC has stopped its simulcast of STANDARD Talk CJAD-A/MONTREAL and turned its license in to the CRTC. The simulcast ended SUNDAY (11/19) after CORUS decided that the costs of repair to the CKTS facility, which STANDARD would not cover, were greater than the value of operating the station. 

CKTS began simulcasting CJAD in 1992 after a CRTC ruling forcing it to provide English-language programming rather than the hybrid English-music-with-French-ads format it had previously aired, and was acquired from ASTRAL MEDIA by CORUS in the companies' station swap in 2005.
