Ronn Owens Ends Daily Talk Show At KGO/San Francisco After 42 Years, Will Host Daily Commentary Feature

RONN OWENS' midday show at CUMULUS News-Talk KGO-A/SAN FRANCISCO has ended, and OWENS will now host a daily short-form "THE RONN OWENS REPORT" commentary feature for the station starting TUESDAY (1/16) at 12:50p (ET).

At the end of his show FRIDAY (1/12), OWENS, noting that he has been on KGO for 42 years, broke the news, assuring listeners he would still be heard every weekday. "It's time to start something different," OWENS said.

According to a memo posted by RICH LIEBERMAN's 415 MEDIA site, also leaving the schedule is 2-4p (PT) host BRIAN COPELAND, who remains on board for weekends and fill-in. ETHAN BEARMAN moves from noon-2p to 10a-12:50p, and the station will simulcast sister News-Talk KABC-A/LOS ANGELES' DR. DREW PINSKY and MIKE CATHERWOOD 1-3p. CHIP FRANKLIN's afternoon show adds an hour in the new schedule. OWENS' producer SANDRA FIRPO exits as well.
