Marketplace Sets Year-Long Series On 2008 Financial Crisis And Its Impact Today

MARKETPLACE is marking the tenth anniversary ot the 2008 financial crisis with a special year-long project, “Divided Decade,” which will include reports and content examining how the crash happened and its effect on the American economy to date and in the future.

“MARKETPLACE is fueled by an ambitious mission to raise the economic intelligence of the country,” said SVP/GM DEBORAH CLARK. “The financial crisis has created a clear division in the AMERICA we know today and is a stark example of how understanding our country’s history and economy is crucial.”
 
The content will include "#HowWeChanged," on-air and social media stories from around the nation answering the question, "How has the financial crisis changed you?”; MARKETPLACE's "Economic Anxiety Index" poll; a series of "Key Moments in the Crisis" reports and panel discussions; a "Crisis Edition" of "I’ve Always Wondered"; coverage of personal stories and continuing impact in a "Tectonic Shifts" series; and "THE UNCERTAIN HOUR" podcast with a special focus on federal financial regulations and whether they make the American financial system safer today than a decade ago.
