BEASLEY MEDIA GROUP stations in PHILADELPHIA and BOSTON are getting into the SUPER BOWL spirit with coverage and special events.
Sports WBZ-F (98.5 THE SPORTS HUB)/BOSTON, flagship for the NEW ENGLAND PATRIOTS, and Sports WPEN (97.5 THE FANATIC)/PHILADELPHIA will be side-by-side at Radio Row at the MALL OF AMERICA in BLOOMINGTON, MN, with morning shows TOUCHER AND RICH from THE SPORTS HUB and ANTHONY GARGANO and BOB COONEY from THE FANATIC crossing over, as will midday shows ZOLAK AND BERTRAND from THE HUB and HARRY MAYES and JASON MYRTETUS from THE FANATIC (the latter not on Radio Row this year). Both stations' afternoon shows -- FELGER AND MAZZ from THE HUB and MIKE MISSANELLI on THE FANATIC -- will also be on Radio Row, and both stations plan big listener parties, THE HUB at BUFFALO WILD WINGS in MINNEAPOLIS and THE FANATIC with GARGANO on hand.
Top 40/Rhythmic WBQT (HOT 96.9)/BOSTON is broadcasting live from PATRIOTS PLACE in FOXBORO, MA this morning for the send-off rally and will also be throwing a "Big Game Bash" at the HARD ROCK CAFÉ in BOSTON the day of the game (2/4). Classic Hits WROR has banned all EAGLES (the band, not the team) music through the end of the game, and afternoon host JAYBEAU JONES bet Adult Hits WBEN-F (95.7 BEN FM)/PHILADELPHIA on the game, with the loser buying team gear for one listener of the other station.
At Rock WMMR/PHILADELPHIA, morning team PRESTON AND STEVE sent a "bird bot" to hitchhike to MINNEAPOLIS, a tribute to "#HitchBot," the hitchhiking robot that met an untimely demise in PHILADELPHIA, and the more successful "PopeBot" that managed to survive and prosper in a trip around PHILLY timed for Pope FRANCIS' visit in 2015.
And Classic Rock WMGK/PHILADELPHIA is tying the game into a ticket giveaway for BILLY JOEL in a "Super JOEL Weekend" promotion.
