WTEM/Washington Now 'The Team 980'

Rebranded

RED ZEBRA BROADCASTING has returned "THE TEAM" branding to its WTEM-A/WASHINGTON, replacing the "ESPN 980" brand that has been the station's slogan since 2008 with "THE TEAM 980."  No programming changes are accompanying the rebrand of the WASHINGTON REDSKINS' station.

The station was known as "SPORTS RADIO 570 THE TEAM" in 1992-98, then became "SPORTS RADIO 980" after its frequency swap.  In 2008, when RED ZEBRA bought WTEM and merged it with its TRIPLE X SPORTS RADIO simulcast, the station briefly took on the TRIPLE X branding before going with "ESPN 980."
