URBAN ONE Founder and Chairperson CATHY HUGHES will receive the 2018 LOWRY MAYS Excellence in Broadcasting Award from the BROADCASTERS FOUNDATION OF AMERICA at the organization's annual NAB SHOW breakfast in LAS VEGAS APRIL 11th at the ENCORE.  HUGHES founded URBAN ONE as RADIO ONE in 1980 and became the first African-American woman to head a publicly traded company in 1999.
