WAGS-A/Bishopville, SC Goes Dark After 64 Years On Air

BEAVER COMMUNICATIONS Country WAGS-A (1380 AM)/BISHOPVILLE, SC has signed off for good, effective WEDNESDAY, FEBRUARY 28th. The station, which launched 64 years ago on FEBRUARY 24th, 1954, had been owned by JIM JENKINS since 2000. JENKINS shared the news of the station's shuttering via the station website.

"I'd like to think I've left a mark with WAGS, a good one,and my time here will be looked on as one of the best in the history of WAGS radio," shared JENKINS in the post. "That the GINSBERGS, the founders, would say, 'You done us proud.' As I step aside, there seems to be no one to step in and assume stewardship of WAGS radio. It's with heavy heart that I must take WAGS radio off the air at the end of the broadcast day, WEDNESDAY, FEBRUARY 28th."
