Longtime CLEVELAND sportscaster and WTAM-A morning co-host CASEY COLEMAN died early MONDAY (11/27) after a tough battle against pancreatic cancer at 55.
COLEMAN, long associated with the CLEVELAD BROWNS and INDIANS, was diagnosed a year ago OCTOBER and given six months to live, but survived for more than twice that period.
COLEMAN, also known for his work as sports anchor at WJW-TV/WJKW-TV (then a CBS affiliate, now FOX 8) in the 1980s, was honored by the city of CLEVELAND with the declaration of "CASEY COLEMAN DAY" on SEPTEMBER 26, and the BROWNS' indoor training facility in BEREA was named in his honor. He was the son of INDIANS and RED SOX broadcasting legend KEN COLEMAN.
