Condolences to family and friends of longtime radio engineer ERIC SMALL, who died THURSDAY (3/15) in DELRAY BEACH, FL at 71. SMALL died after an elderly driver lost control of her car and hit him as she drove into the front of a PUBLIX supermarket; the driver also died in the crash.
SMALL started his career in 1964 at Classical WNCN/NEW YORK, then worked at PHIL RAMONE's A&R RECORDING and as Chief Engineer at RKO Top 40 WXLO (99X)/NEW YORK. He was the co-inventor of the original ORBAN Optimod FM processor and became a consultant; after a foray into aerospace engineering, he founded MODULATION SCIENCES.
