A startup podcast site that aims to allow users to interact with shows at specific moments has gotten its seed funding and is planning a public beta launch later this year. SAYCASTER, headed by CEO SYMI SONOMA, launched a private beta late last year and plays podcasts in a vertical scrolling browser feed that enables things like links, social media posts, and photos and videos related to the show content to pop up and prompt listeners for comments. iOS and Android apps are also planned.

"The idea came to us when we realized how painfully old-fashioned and clunky the podcast experience truly was," said SONOMA in a press release announcing the seed financing. "When a Podcaster mentions a tweet or an article, why on earth doesn't it just appear automatically? What about interviews? Surely a prompt to follow them on twitter should appear without any effort from the listener?.... It quickly became apparent that there was a sheer lack of communication between the fans and the creators. We realized that by introducing a more dynamic podcast experience, we opened up the floodgates for two-way interaction to finally occur within the medium."
