CBC RADIO ONE/EDMONTON afternoon "RADIO ACTIVE" host PORTIA CLARK got an interesting sendoff on her final show FRIDAY (3/23) before departing to join CBC RADIO ONE/NOVA SCOTIA's "INFORMATION MORNING": her co-host and co-workers hijacked the show to offer a surprise tribute to CLARK.
The CBC reports that CLARK, at CBC EDMONTON for 18 years combined on radio and television, prepared and started her show, only to find that her mic had been cut off. Co-host ROD KURTZ then informed her, "If you wonder why your microphone isn't working, it's because I've taken over the show. You know all that prep you did today? You're not going to need it." CLARK joked that she hadn't done much prep anyway.
The show featured staffers and columnists CLARK had worked with on the show offering their well wishes and tips for living in HALIFAX.
CLARK, a NOVA SCOTIA native who began her career at the CBC in HALIFAX before moving to EDMONTON, begins her stint on "INFORMATION MORNING" on APRIL 2nd. She is replacing the retired DON CONNOLLY as LOUISE RENAULT's co-host on the show.
