TROY GENTRY of MONTGOMERY GENTRY was fined today for inaccurately tagging a bear, based on the prosecution's recent decision to reduce the initial charge from felony to misdemeanor. The case had nothing to do with the actual hunt of the animal, which was decreed by the court as a "legal act." GENTRY assumed responsibility and pleaded to the lesser offense. U.S. District Judge PAUL MAGNUSON cited on record that at no time was it ever alleged that the bear was harvested illegally.
The incorrect tagging could result in $15,000 in fines and forfeiture of his weapon and mounted bear.
