CBC/RADIO-CANADA has a new Pres./CEO with the appointment of DUOPOLY President and former SALTER STREET FILMS Pres./COO and TELEFILM CANADA Manager of Policy and Planning CATHERINE TAIT to the position. TAIT, who replaces two-term Pres./CEO HUBERT LACROIX, was appointed to a five-year term by Minister of Canadian Heritage MÉLANIE JOLY.
JOLY said, "I am honored to announce this significant milestone for our national broadcaster. With the appointment of Ms. TAIT as Pres./CEO, we benefit from her depth of experience as an entrepreneur, business leader and lifelong champion for Canadian content. She is without question the right person for the job. I am excited for the energy, vision and leadership she will bring while she is at the helm of CBC/RADIO-CANADA."
Also appointed to the CBC Board of Directors were BISHOP'S UNIVERSITY Principal/Vice Chair and former TORONTO STAR Publisher MICHAEL GOLDBLOOM (who will serve as Chair of the board), NAD ÉCOLE DES ARTS NUMÉRIQUES, DE L'ANIMATION ET DU DESIGN Director General SUZANNE GUÈVREMONT, LVL STUDIO Strategic and Operational Advisor GUILLAUME ANIORTÉ, and City of VANCOUVER GM of Arts, Culture, and Community Services SANDRA B. SINGH.
