JACOBS MEDIA's TECHSURVEY 2018, which will have its debut at the upcoming WORLDWIDE RADIO SUMMIT 2018 at NOON on THURSDAY, MAY 3rd, consists of more than 64,000 respondents representing well more than 500 radio stations across NORTH AMERICA.
The surveys were completed in JANUARY and FEBRUARY. THE JACOBS MEDIA team has been busily compiling the data and searching for new insights. Here's a sneak peek at one of the key data points from the study:
Consumers continue to cut the cord, shifting to an on-demand television experience

JACOBS MEDIA Pres. FRED JACOBS, who will present TECHSURVEY 2018 at WWRS 2018, commented, "The percentage of Pay TV subscribers continues on its downward arc, as more and more consumers opt to control their viewing experience. Now, 14% say they’ve cut the cord."
This year's JACOBS TECHSURVEY focus continues to revolve around the on-demand shift in the media culture – and cord cutting and podcasting go hand in hand.
JACOBS concluded, "We continue to see the connection between on-demand video and audio in our TECHSURVEYS. It's a tsunami on the television side, and we continue to see on-demand growth in radio. We'll take a deep dive on podcasting at the WORLDWIDE RADIO SUMMIT 2018 in HOLLYWOOD MAY 2, 3, and 4 with the TECHSURVEY 2018 reveal on MAY 3rd at NOON. Hope to see you there."
