REBA MCENTIRE as host, and CARRIE UNDERWOOD's show-stopping performance of "Cry Pretty," helped propel SUNDAY night's (4/15) "53RD ACADEMY OF COUNTRY MUSIC AWARDS" telecast on CBS-TV to a prime-time win, attracting more than 12 million viewers while earning a 2.1 rating/7 share among coveted 18-49 TV watchers, according to ZAP2IT.
The figure for total viewers was an increase from the 2017 ACMs, which pulled in 10.91 million. The 18-49 2.1 share matched last year's ACM Awards show result for that demo. This year's ACMs bested the highly anticipated JAMES COMEY interview on ABC-TV, which drew 9.78 million viewers, earning a 1.7 rating.
