ACM Holds Town Meeting To Face Technology Changes

The ACM (ACADEMY OF COUNTRY MUSIC) held its first town meeting to explore opportunities and challenges the Country music industry faces in the race to keep up with technology. The event was held at NASHVILLE's brand-new downtown showcase, the SCHERMERHORN SYMPHONY HALL, on TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 14. On the panel was WARNER BROS. Pres. BILL BENNETT, CAPITOL RECORDS Pres. MIKE DUNGAN, EQUITY MUSIC Pres. MIKE KRASKY, SONY BMG's HEATHER McBEE, Producer MARK BRIGHT, Engineer CHUCK AINLAY and the COUNTRY AIRCHECK's LON HELTON.
Panelists discussed the impact of things like iTUNES, MYSPACE, YOUTUBE and ringtones and how the Country industry would capitalize on them.
