Former U.S. Attorney PREET BHARARA and SOME SPIDER STUDIOS' CAFE podcast and multimedia network is adding a new podcast on the immigrant experience in AMERICA, hosted by satirist BASSEM YOUSSEF. The new, as-yet-untitled show will debut in MAY and join BHARARA's own "STAY TUNED" podcast on CAFE's roster; YOUSSEF, known as the host of the first political satire TV show in the MIDDLE EAST, "ALBERNAMEG," and a correspondent for "THE DAILY SHOW," will get some additional exposure with an appearance on "STAY TUNED" to be taped live at the APOLLO THEATER in NEW YORK on THURSDAY (4/26).
"I'm thrilled to welcome BASSEM to the CAFE family," said BHARARA. "His courage, intelligence and humor are an inspiring combination. And after standing up to an oppressive government, creating a hit show, and performing heart surgery, I hope he is now up to the rigors of hosting a podcast."
"I'm so excited to join PREET and the CAFE family to host a new podcast where we explore the fun and challenges of being an outsider. I know a thing or two about this topic!," said YOUSSEF, who, besides being a satirist, is a cardiothoracic surgeon. "While the show will obviously feature an immigrant's perspective, I hope it will appeal to everyone, as we all feel like an outsider from time to time."
