Gimlet Media's 'Sandra' Podcast To Be Developed For TV Version By Paul Lee's wiip

WIIP, the production house launched by former ABC programming chief PAUL LEE, has acquired the television rights to GIMLET MEDIA's scripted dramatic podcast "SANDRA."  GIMLET PICTURES, the podcast network's TV and film production division, will co-produce the TV version with WIIP.

The podcast, starring KRISTEN WIIG and ALIA SHAWKAT, tells the story of a woman who takes a job as one of many operators behind an Alexa-style "virtual assistant."  The show debuted APRIL 18th as GIMLET's second scripted podcast.

"WIIP is committed to supporting bold, creative content," said LEE, calling the new project "the latest example that GIMLET PICTURES has mastered the art of storytelling, and we're excited to partner with them to bring 'SANDRA''s compelling and complex world to life on screen."
