Looking ahead to the yuletide season, ISLAND RECORDS group THE KILLERS have recorded "A Great Big Sled," their first CHRISTMAS single, and along with APPLE iTUNES MUSIC STORE are donating 100% of the proceeds from sales of the song to THE GLOBAL FUND to fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria.
Radio stations will be receiving the song via digital delivery tomorrow (11/30). In conjunction with WORLD AIDS DAY (12/1), ISLAND DEF JAM is asking radio to start playing "A Great Big Sled" in a show of solidarity.
"In the spirit of the season, THE KILLERS have penned a special record to help others in need," says IDJ Exec. VP/Promotion & New Media GREG THOMPSON. "We are proud that they have chosen this opportunity to bring awareness to such a worthy cause."
On FRIDAY (12/1) AOL will premiere the song on aolmusic.com, while the video for "A Great Big Sled" will premiere on YAHOO MUSIC on DECEMBER 7.
