CRTC Approves Rogers Purchase In Alberta

OK's Sale Of Several Stations

The CRTC has approved the sale by O.K. RADIO GROUP of stations in EDMONTON, FORT MCMURRAY, and GRANDE PRAIRIE, AB to ROGERS BROADCASTING LTD. ROGERS gets Alternative CHDI (SONIC 102.9) and Ethnic CKER (WORLD FM)/EDMONTON, Country CJOK and Rock CKYX (KYX 98)/FORT MCMURRAY plus rebroadcaster CJOK-FM-1 TAR ISLAND, and Top 40 CFGP (97.7 SUN FM)/GRANDE PRAIRIE and transmitters in PEACE RIVER and TUMBLER RIDGE.

Also at the CRTC, the commission approved low-power community FM stations in PRINCE GEORGE, BC and STOUFVILLE, ON.
