Indiana Broadcaster Reid Chapman Dies

Condolences to family and friends of longtime CBS affiliate WANE-TV/FT. WAYNE GM REID CHAPMAN, who died WEDNESDAY at 86.

CHAPMAN's career started in radio at WAOV-A/VINCENNES, IN in 1943, and he later hosted a show (as "CHUCKLES CHAPMAN") at WISH-A/INDIANAPOLIS before joining the old WANE-A and WANE-TV in 1956, where he stayed until his 1982 retirement, then returned briefly as GM in 1983-94. He was the first recipient of the INDIANA BROADCASTERS ASSOCIATION's Lifetime Achievement Award.
