CLEAR CHANNEL AC WALK/LONG ISLAND "After Hours" (nighttime "Love Songs") host MARIA GARCIA has tendered her resignation. GARCIA, a longtime LONG ISLAND radio personality, co-hosted mornings at crosstown COX Top 40 WBLI for many years before joining WALK last Spring.
WALK PD ROB MILLER said, "One of MARIA’s dreams for the past few years was to return to MIAMI to be with her family. Her mom and dad live there, and, quite honestly, she is tired of the snowy, cold winter weather on LONG ISLAND. Her husband, ANDREW, who works in programming for ABC NEWS RADIO, has been able to get a job transfer, and now MARIA, ANDREW and their son, ETHAN, will be heading 'home' to SOUTH FLORIDA."
MILLER will announce GARCIA's replacement shortly. In the interim, AL LEWIS is hosting nights at WALK, which are currently filled with holiday music.
