CBS RADIO Alternative WBCN & Classic Rock WZLX/BOSTON Marketing Director CHA CHI LOPRETE celebrated his 25th anniversary at WBCN this past WEDNESDAY (11/29). BOSTON MAYOR MENINO declared NOVEMBER 29, 2006 as "CHA CHI DAY" in the city of BOSTON!

WBCN’s afternooners TOUCHER & RICH paid tribute to CHA CHI’s 25th anniversary by having several people call in to their show, including CBS RADIO CEO JOEL HOLLANDER and RVP DON BOULOUKOS, CHA CHI's good friend TONY BENNETT, former WBCN personalities BILLY WEST and CHARLES LAQUIDARA, and LOU "THE HULK" FERRIGNO.

CHA CHI worked his way up from answering phones at WBCN in 1981 to a promotion street team person passing out bumpers stickers at concerts. He later become a van driver, jock, and Promotions Director. In addition to his current duties as Marketing Director at WBCN and WZLX, CHA CHI also hosts "BREAKFAST WITH THE BEATLES" on SATURDAY mornings on WZLX.

CHA CHI told ALL ACCESS, "Working at WBCN was a dream come true for me 25 years ago, as it still is today. I grew up in BOSTON with a radio in my hand, and WBCN was the station I always listened to and aspired to be a part of. Nothing compares to working in the radio industry, and there is no other radio station that can compare to WBCN. I have worked with the best in the business then and now, and I am grateful to everyone who has helped me along the way."
