iHeartMedia/Pittsburgh's Mike Steele Passes

Condolences to the family and friends of iHEARTMEDIA's Classic Rock WDVE/PITTSBURGH parttimer MIKE (STEELE) VRABLE, who passed away before the 4th OF JULY holiday. The station posted to its website, "It is with an extremely heavy heart, we regret to inform everyone of the passing of our good friend and co-worker MIKE (STEELE) VRABLE. He passed away in the evening hours last night.

"MIKE was a part-time jock on ‘DVE, a local producer for the PENGUINS games on THE X, and produced the local segment of the STEELERS RADIO NETWORK. He also did fill in work on 3WS and could be counted on at a moments notice for anything the stations need... a jack-of-all trades. MIKE started out at 106.7 THE FORCE in BEAVER FALLS. He was present for the transition when THE FORCE became 105.9 THE X in 1995. After a few years he moved to AUSTIN, TX to work for Rock Station KLBJ. In 2011, he returned to WDVE.

"MIKE never had a bad word to say about anyone, and rarely complained about life in general. His passion was music, especially local music. MIKE will be missed by all."
