Current Ends 'The Pub' Podcast

CURRENT is ending production and distribution of its podcast about public media, "THE PUB."  The show launched in JANUARY 2015, initially hosted by ADAM RAGUSEA and later by ANNIE RUSSELL, with GABE BULLARD as a guest host.  Past episodes will remain available via SOUNDCLOUD.

In a post on the CURRENT website, Executive Director JULIE DRIZIN wrote, "We are sorry to disappoint loyal listeners who appreciated frank talk about our system, but we’ve finally faced up to the fact that THE PUB is not sustainable."  A failure to attract adequate fundraising support -- the funds collected only covered a quarter of expenses -- was noted as a reason for the end of the series; DRIZIN did not rule out CURRENT returning to podcasting in the future.
