WILKS BROADCASTING took control of several former CBS/KANSAS CITY stations on FRIDAY (12/1) and immediately made some cuts.
At KFKF, RUSTY WALKER, who handled the 9a-1p spot, departs as MD/middayer TONY STEVENS expands his air shift to 9a-2p. Night slammer TIM PETERS is also out, and for now the spot is being held by various parttimers. Veteran newsman RANDY BIRCH and morning show producer JIM DANIELS have exited as well.
Across the hall, KCKC (STAR 102) nighttimer MIKE O'BRIEN and Promotions Coordinator ANGELA SIMMONS are out, and KMXV (MIX 93.3) Promotions Dir. NEAL DUNKER has exited as well. KMXV Promotions Coordinator JAMIE HARRIS is now a parttimer.
GREG SAGE has moved off of fulltime pm traffic on KMXV, as well as promotions at KMXV and KCKC and imaging at KCKC, to become parttime.
TJ MCENTIRE moves to afternoons on KBEQ, while RONNIE PHILLIPS segues from nights to middays. SHOTGUN JAXON departs as he and the station were unable to reach a new agreement. KBEQ Promotions Coordinator KRISTY RUSH also exits.
