HUNTINGTON, WV is currently buzzing over the release of the WARNER BROS. film "We Are Marshall" scheduled to hit theatres later this month. The film is based on a 1970 plane crash that took the lives of the local MARSHALL UNIVERSITY FOOTBALL TEAM.
Since much of the movie was filmed in the market, CONNOISSEUR AC WMGA (MAGIC 97.9)/HUNTINGTON, WV PD/morning man JB MILLER tracked down two benches on eBAY that were used as props in the filming. In making the transaction, MILLER also purchased other props such as film reels, clipboards, a helmet, banners, playbooks, and more. He then hired an auctioneer to help sell the items and raise donations for a children's charity. He also located 12 members of the 1971 MARSHALL UNIVERSITY team, who were on hand to sign autographs at the event.
