The license of CLARO COMMUNICATIONS for KBRN-A/BOERNE-SAN ANTONIO, TX has been canceled by the FCC because the station did not respond to the FCC's request for information as to whether the station had been silent for longer than the permitted one year. The Commission sent CLARO a letter on MAY 14th, asking if the station had been silent since MARCH 22nd, and received no answer.
Under previous ownership, the station was fined $25,000 (reduced later to $20,000) for main studio, EAS, and public file violations in 2006, then $8,000 for main studio and power violations in 2008. Most recently an Oldies station, the station was listed as the planned primary station for FM translator K272EK/SAN ANTONIO.
