CRN COMMUNICATIONS Talk WDYT-A (formerly Classic Country WKMT-A)/KINGS MOUNTAIN, NC is planning a move into the CHARLOTTE market and is revamping its lineup with an eye toward the move. CRN's EVP CASEY SHANNON tells the CHARLOTTE OBSERVER's MARK WASHBURN that the station expects to fire up its new transmitter with 25,000 watts daytime and 106 watts nighttime in first quarter 2007.
The station has launched a new morning show, "THINK MORNINGS," with former crosstown WBT-A-F morning anchor JON ROBINSON and former CLEAR CHANNEL/CHARLOTTE reporter LIZ LUKE, and plans to launch a show for 9a weekdays with former FOX affiliate WCCB-TV (FOX 18) traffic reporter MICHAEL HAUN and both a noon business hour and afternoon drive talk show with CRN principal DANNY FONTANA, who is presently handling 1-3p.
