Embattled UNIVISION COMMUNICATIONS has hired SCRIPPS INTERACTIVE NETWORKS Pres./Content Distribution and Marketing HENRY AHN as Pres./Content Distribution and Partnerships. The veteran programming distribution executive who has also worked for NBCUNIVERSAL, HBO, and COMEDY CENTRAL will be based in MIAMI and report to new CEO VINCENT SADUSKY.
SADUSKY said, "HENRY is one of the most respected and accomplished distribution executives in our industry today. This, coupled with his deep understanding of the content business and his honest and straightforward negotiating style, will ensure that UNIVISION partners with MVPDs and digital platforms to deliver our highly-consumed original content to the largest U.S. Hispanic audience.”
UNIVISION has put the assets of its GIZMODO MEDIA GROUP and THE ONION up for sale, and Chief Content Officer ISAAC LEE exited last month. Rumors about the company's radio group being on the block for sale or merger have also circulated in recent weeks.
