More details of the FCC's NASHVILLE open meeting agenda are out, and as for other FCC meetings on the ownership rules, there are few radio representatives but plenty of music industry figures on the panels.
On the first panel on "Issues Affecting the Music Recording Industry," radio will be represented by CROMWELL GROUP Pres. BUD WALTERS and FISK UNIVERSITY noncommercial WFSK/NASHVILLE GM SHARON KAY, while among the music figures on the panel are GEORGE JONES, NAOMI JUDD, DOBIE GRAY, PORTER WAGONER, songwriter CRAIG WISEMAN, and the AFM's HAROLD BRADLEY and SONGWRITERS' GUILD's RICK CARNES. Also on the panel are the FUTURE OF MUSIC COALITION's JENNY TOOMEY, VANDERBILT LAW SCHOOL Professor CHRISTOPHER S. YOO, and VANDERBILT Professor LUKE FROEB.
For the "Nashville Market Overview and Issues Affecting Broadcasters and Independent Programmers" panel, the sole full-power radio representative, WVOL-A/NASHVILLE Pres. JOHN HEIDELBERG, will be joined by LPFM WRFN-LP (RADIO FREE NASHVILLE) co-founder GINNY WELSCH, former radio exec JAMES WOLFE, NBC affiliate WSMV-TV GM ELDEN HALE, CHRISTIAN TELEVISION NETWORK owner BOB D'ANDREA, NASHVILLE COMMUNITY NEWSPAPERS publisher GARY CUNNINGHAM, CONSUMER UNION's GENE KIMMELMAN, journalist ALEX JONES, CENTER FOR PUBLIC INTEGRITY head and journalist WENDELL "SONNY" RAWLS, CBS affiliate WTVF/NASHVILLE's NEWSCHANNEL 5 NETWORK Pres./GM DEBBIE TURNER, BIG IDEA INC. COO TERRY PEFANIS, YOUNG BROADCASTING's DEBORAH A. MCDERMOTT, and THE TENNESSEAN Publisher/Pres. ELLEN LEIFELD.
