Citing security and safety concerns, BIG MACHINE RECORDS' RASCAL FLATTS ended their set earlier than planned during last night's (8/9) show at the RUOFF HOME MORTGAGE MUSIC CENTER in INDIANAPOLIS. The exact nature of the safety concerns were not made clear, according to the INDIANAPOLIS STAR, which quoted a venue spokesman saying, "As this is an open and active investigation, the Sheriff’s Office has no further details, including the type of safety issue, available for release at this time."
The band also issued a statement this morning (8/10): "INDIANAPOLIS -- Due to a security concern at the show last night, standard procedures were quickly executed and everyone was able to safely leave the building. The safety of our fans, band, and crew is always the top priority for us, so we are so thankful for everyone who jumped into action and for your understanding. We will be back soon!" Fans in the 24,000 seat venue were awaiting RASCAL FLATTS' encore, when an announcement on the PA system declared the show over.
